High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) alternates short bouts of hard effort with easier recovery. It can be a time-efficient way to improve conditioning, but a systematic review of randomized trials did not find it superior to continuous aerobic training for reducing body fat. Choose a format you can perform safely and sustain.
Full-Body HIIT Exercise Options

1. Battle Rope Slams
30 sec work / 30 sec rest. Explosive full-body power & cardiovascular drive.

2. Full-Body Burpees
20 sec work / 10 sec rest. A demanding bodyweight option requiring no equipment.

Work-to-Rest Ratios
Beginners can start with a longer recovery than work interval, such as 30 seconds of effort followed by 60 seconds of easy movement, for 4 to 6 rounds. Adjust the effort, duration, and recovery to your current fitness level.
Advanced athletes can progress to Tabata intervals (20 seconds all-out sprint, 10 seconds rest, repeated for 8 cycles over 4 total minutes).
